Coping Skills Training
Coping skills are activities and techniques that one can engage in to help them get “from one moment to the next” during times of increased stress. Reducing stress is the primary way to address the pain and discomfort associated with symptoms associated with poor mental health. Coping skills can be utilized to assist with experiences with Anger, Anxiety, Poor sleep, struggles with appetite, low motivation, struggles with focusing. In short anything that stress can ruin for you, a coping skill can help restore.
Often times while engaging in therapy, one might be lacking effective coping skills, may suffer from stagnant or unexciting skills or may not have enough skills for the variety of ways life can get us all fucked up. Coping skills training involves assessing what coping skills you do have, how they help, and what updates or upgrades are needed to increase experiences with wellness. Having effective coping skills is necessary for getting the most out of the therapeutic process.
